BIOGRAPHY
Morey’s focus is counseling clients seeking patent, trademark, and trade secret rights. He handles the prosecution of patent and trademark applications, licensing of intellectual property rights, and opinions of patentability and freedom to operate.
Morey’s patent prosecution experience includes both US and international work, including work under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). His experience includes a broad variety of products and complex technologies, including external and implantable medical devices, computer software and Internet application programs, automotive engines and exteriors, digital signatures and cryptography systems, chemical delivery systems, underground pipeline rehabilitation apparatuses, gas lighters, pneumatic devices, television/videotape conversions, children’s toys, sports equipment, and other consumer products.
Morey also counsels and assists clients in product development, identification of inventions and protectable rights, and novelty determinations, including evaluation and analysis of competitors’ patent portfolios, rendering opinions on the scope of patent claims and the validity of patents and infringement issues, and design rights.
Prior to joining Pearl Cohen, Morey worked at Fish & Neave, Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman, P.C., and at Davidson, Davidson & Kappel, LLC, where he was a Partner.
