Dozens of cyber-attacks and attempted cyber-attacks against various Israeli institutions and companies were uncovered in October. In one of these events, the computer systems of a major Israeli hospital were completely crippled, and medical staff was forced to document procedures and medical records by handwritten notes.
Nine other hospitals in Israel were attacked as well, but the Israel National Cyber Directorate managed to block the attacks. The identity of the attackers remains undisclosed, but it is believed that the attacks were financially motivated.
A recent attack on the Israeli webserver company CyberServe led to difficulties in accessing and using dozens of websites of Israeli private and public companies, associations, and governmental corporations. This attack is attributed to the Iranian hacker group “Black Shadow”.
