BIOGRAPHY
With over 15 years of experience, Yaffa (Cheryl) Schindler develops and manages worldwide patent portfolios for US and Israeli clients and provides guidance to clients on patentability and freedom to operate for their innovations to further their business goals. Her clients include universities and start-up companies in the life science fields in the early-to-late stages of product development.
Her work includes management of large patent portfolios and counseling start-ups on Intellectual Property matters. She has broad experience in all aspects of patent prosecution, both in the U.S. and abroad, as well as due diligence matters; validity, patentability, and freedom to operate opinions. Her Ph.D. and research experience contribute to her understanding of the complex issues of patenting an invention and devising an intellectual property strategy that fits the business requirements of the company.
Yaffa also is a member of the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI) and the Israeli Patent Attorneys Association (IPAA).
Yaffa’s clients include universities and start-up companies that operate in the pharma and life sciences space including in the areas of microbiology and immunology, including mRNA vaccines, nucleic-acid-based therapies, and therapeutic drug development.
