Our IL Trademarks and Design Partners, Chair of the Group, Dor Cohen Zedek, and Partner Abishag Levy, have contributed an exceptional article to this year’s review; “Israel: New Practice Paper Indicates Increasingly Strict Stance Toward Descriptive and Non-Distinctive Marks”. In summary, the article addresses the legal framework of the Israeli trademark registration process, its prosecution and enforcement. In the past several years, Israel has become extremely strict in its examination practice, specifically regarding non-distinctive marks. Just recently, a new Practice Paper has been circulated determining the distinctiveness.
