A bill has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives to amend the U.S, Copyright Law to cover original works that have been adopted or incorporated by reference, in full or in part, into any Federal, State, or municipal law or regulation. Under the bill, such works will remain protectable by copyright only if the owner makes the work available without cost for viewing by the public in electronic form, such as on a publicly accessible website.
